After years of hands-on with various AR glasses that never quite fit right, I've finally found a pair that could work for everyday use. XREAL's new One Series AR glasses, which I recently tested, solve two key pain points: they’re more comfortable than any other glasses I've tried, and they don't make me look like a complete geek while wearing them.

This new chip enables the glasses to handle essential processing independently, obliterating latency as an issue, which is a really big deal.
During my test run of the One series, I was able to see the glasses connected to an iPhone 16, a Steam Deck and a MacBook. These were curated experiences but I was able to comfortably watch a YouTube video via the glasses that was outputting directly from the phone. Connecting to the MacBook enabled me to see three spatial monitors in a virtual workspace.
The widescreen mode for PCs, for instance, is really good. In fact, I used them at home with my own MacBook to write this story. I saw all my open windows spread around me on a slightly curved virtual monitor. My field of view wasn't wide enough to see it all, but I was able to focus on the window I want and turn my head to see the rest -- no Apple Vision Pro or preloaded software necessary.
The thing I love about my XREAL air is they are just like normal sunglasses until you don't want them to be. For example, I could wear these at the beach see the water, my eyes are protected from the sun, but at any time I could look to my left and now I'm watching a 330" inch IMAX screen.

As someone who travels a lot and takes road trips often, I absolutely love bringing a pair of these glasses with me.They let me play my Steam Deck or Nintendo Switch on a much larger screen. I can watch movie through my phone while being more immersed in the media and the image is sharp enough that i can even plug into my MacBook if i want to get some work done.

I was able to play my games wherever, whenever on a gaint screen. It was such an immersive experience that I would not trade for anything.

The craziest part about these glasses is I can actually change the tint level and when you look through these screen is big, bright, sharp and everything you want from a pair of AR glasses. The part that blows me away is that this actually has spatial track. That means I can look around and the screen stays in the exact same spot.
